Loss Prevention Bulletin - 31 October 2018

Date of incident: 29/10/2018 

An unspecified number of armed pirates on a speed boat chased and opened fire on an underway Marshall Islands flagged tanker ship carrying out bunkering operations. The vessel came under attack at 1210 hrs local time around 101nm west of Pointe Noire. The tanker ship conducted evasive manoeuvres and managed to escape the attack. All crew were reported safe. The incident occurred on the same day as pirates kidnapped four crew members from a supply vessel off the coast of Pointe Noire.
