Organised around our Members
The UK War Risks Club is organised around its Members, with elected Directors making strategic and policy decisions, supported by the Managers who administer the business of the Club on a day-to-day basis.
The Board of Directors
The Articles and the Rules give the Board of Directors wide powers to manage the affairs of the Club and also set out how these powers are to be exercised.
There must be at least three and no more than ten Directors (Article 44). The number of Directors may be changed by Ordinary Resolution of the General Meeting (Article 52). Currently there are five Directors.
To be eligible for appointment as a Director, a person must be a Member of the Club or be a director of, or employed in an executive or consultancy capacity by, a corporation which is a Member of the Club (Article 45(A)).
The Directors entrust the day-to-day management of the Club to professional Managers. This management is carried out in accordance with an overall strategy determined by the Directors, with whom ultimate responsibility rests.
