Loss Prevention Bulletin - 26 January 2018

On 24th January 2018 at 09:00ZHrs, a merchant tanker was attacked near position 03°30N – 006°20E (South/50nm from Brass, Nigeria). Navies on board merchant tanker repelled the attack.

Vessels transiting the area are advised to exercise extreme caution.

The Club has noted several incidents recently in the Gulf of Guinea, including the hijacking of a tanker off Cotonou for suspected fuel theft. Accordingly, the Club encourages Members to take all reasonable precautions in the area.
